Getting to Copán is easy....

Ixbalanque Spanish School is just 3 hours by air-conditioned bus from San Pedro Sula, or four hours from Guatemala City. Both airports are serviced by frequent international flights. We recommend travelling through San Pedro Sula for its proximity, and lack of a border crossing.

Our students travel to Copan from San Pedro Sula on Casasola Express, which offers the most experienced and affordable transport in the region. Their comfortable buses depart San Pedro from the Transportes Norteños Terminal daily at 8:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. Easy connections are available in San Pedro to Tegucigalpa, Tela or La Ceiba.

There are other bus companies in town that run regular, comfortable bus service between Copán and Guatemala City/Antigua. Our on-campus travel agent, Orquídea Tours, will be happy to see to your bus travel needs.

When you arrive in Copán, the bus stations are located only minutes away from the school. If you let us know in advance what bus you're arriving on, we'll will be happy to meet you, and take you directly to the family you'll be living with. (Note: we recommend arriving in Copan on a Saturday or Sunday in order to start your class week on a Monday.)
